Do you know the person who makes your clothing?
1stafricanclothing seeks individuals or organized groups to establish long term relationships. We purchase their designs, or request customs orders.

Are your items FAIR TRADE?
1stafricanclothing pays Fair Trade prices for our clothing. We know and work with the tailors and seamstresses to develop pricing structures that provide sustainable living wages. The Kanga, blankets, kitenge and fabric items are made in factories over which we have no pricing or labor standards control.

Why do you call yourself a Social Purpose Business?
1st African Clothing is owned and operated by the non profit organization , Expanding Opportunities. Its purpose is to create an income stream for African tailors, and seamstresses to assist them to support their families. 100% of profits from 1st African Clothing are applied to our children’s work in Kenya. How long will it take to get my order?
Your order is filled promptly. As long as there are no problems with payment or shipping method, it should leave us within 2-3 days.

What problems might occur with my order?
The items at 1st African Clothing are uniquely hand made. That means there is only ONE or in very limited quantity. We may not have your size, or, though we try to quickly remove items from the site, occasionally you may order an item that has already been sold a few minutes before your order. In this case, we will contacty ou by phone or email to discuss alternatives or refund your order.

How do you ship?
Most orders are shipped viz US Priority Mail.

Will you ship with any carrier?
1stafricanclothing will ship using your preferred carrier provided there are no other problems with the carrier.
